members of 1457 are assembling the chasey, while everyone else is figuring out what else has to be done and what the robot will actually do, and how. We just got done reading the updates from the FRC website.
Yesterday, the new desgin for the sweatshirts came out, although, the design still has some minor changes. Also, we built the chasey and then took it apart to learn where all the parts go and marking each peice to where it should go. Basically, little progress goes a long way, well hopefully anyway.

One of TRONN's team members, Alex V., might have figured out what our robots have to do and how the hints relate to our objective.
I was on facebook, and I get this message from Alex, and everything he said made perfect sense.

"... lady in the pic i believe that she is named Wilma Rudolph look her up cause to me its the same person and she is holding a pillar which is in Rome and Greece and those both have had the Olympics and the Rome Olympics was in 1960 so that was when black and white pic were used.. then i looked to see if she was an Olympiad she was... she was a track runner who did team relay with a baton, and FIRST wanted to incorporate more teamwork so i think it is a competition to have robots compete in team relay races that is my conclusion cause the first robotics symbol means a robot and the lady was a runner so that's what i think is going to happen... however i still may be wrong cause i don't have the answer so I thought it was cool." -Alex [01.06.2011 11:50pm]

The lady in the picture is Little Eva. Famous for her song, "Locomotion." and other songs. A robotics team member, searched her songs, and Locomotion was the song most relatable to the competition.

All we need to do now is put all the pieces together.

I've spent about what seems like forever trying to figure them out and still nothing.
Today in Robotics, some members of the team tried figuring it out, and I must say we came up with clever possibilities.

Hopefully we find out before Kickoff.

Hollyfest was a bunch of fun! The Coral Academy Robotics team raised 600 dollars! We had a bounce house, the planetarium, and we had the CAS elementary singing contest, which was a big success. The robotics team did a really good job organizing the whole thing and the other CAS clubs did a really good job as well.

TRONN #1457 had another succesfull organization last week. The annual Coral Academy of Science Holly Fest 2010 was last Friday. It was Amazing. Singing Contest, Cookie Contest, Planetarium, great food, drinks, christmas gifts and lot more... Over 40 Booths, hundreds of visitors...

Hi Folks,
Team#1457 is back with a new Name: TRONN (Team Robotics of Northern Nevada).

Last year, it was kind of a wrap-up season for us. It was not easy to get the team together after a year of Break. But Thanks God, we made it. We rebuild our team, redesigned our robot, and did pretty well in Las Vegas Championship.

This year we started working early. Fundraising is one of our biggest challenge now. But we are excited to have a team and are looking forward to 2011 Championship.

John: So now we had the robot running through the system, wireless and all. We have just mounted the kicker. Made some minor adjustments to it and almost didn't work. We have Reno Robotics coming on 2/19, thats tomorrow, along with KNPB channel 5. Its going to be exciting and yet we are way behind. We need more supporters to see us through. And the mentors, may I add, have done a well job. Although, sometimes I wish we could just stick to what we are supposed to be doing and not screw around as much.

Robot Tracks and Catches Thrown Object – TOTO

TOTO, “Tracking of Thrown Objects” is a robot which tracks and catches objects thrown at it. Developed by Dennis Barteit, the robot uses cameras to lock on to the incoming projectile and catch it.
The goal? To speed up robotic automation by throwing and catching needed parts and objects. This “transportation by throwing” is a two part problem in that it requires both aimed throwing and active catching.
